Brad Jenkins performed, studied and taught music in many settings and with many world-class musicians. He is recognized in the music scene mostly as a versatile Tenor Sax player. At the age of 6 he began with piano lessons and singing. Soon after a saxophone caught his curiosity and became his main instrument for performing.

He has performed most of his life but during late teens and forward the stages were further apart and he soon became a touring musician. He took lessons from some musicians in his travels including some of the best in their field. Later Brad attended Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz area where he spent 4 years advancing his skills and knowledge. Cabrillo was well know for its music department and notably Ray Brown who taught Jazz Improve and Jazz Theory and Arranging. He excelled in studies with 47 units of music alone. Although Brad's style is a strong Blues and RnB style, he knows his way around Jazz charts and changes.

Brad has taught private lessons for over 50 years at many levels. Recently he was working for a School District in Southern Humboldt County of California. He taught K-8 for many years and had a great reputation with the children who lovingly called him Mr. Brad. He taught in Hawaii for an Adult Special Ed facility as well as After-School program for an Elimentary School. In the '90s he taught a Computer Assisted Theater design class in Santa Cruz area. Students learned some basic CAD and the importance of research to create the perfect design that the director invisions.

His performance history has taken him to many places in the US and Canada. Small towns. Big cities. Large auditoriums. Small Road-House Taverns. Casinos and Dance Halls. Along the journey Brad met many other Musicians and shared knowledge and stories of the road and its many ups and downs. Late nights, long hours of travel, unknown housing situations, bad weather, critics, fans and Women. There were shows with 2 or 3 people in the audience and others with 200,000. The stage became home and a comfort zone as the years revealed the future.

His musical career has given opportunity to play with some of the best in the industry including several Grammy winners and well known house hold names in the Music Industry.

Having experienced everything from Criteria Studios in Miami in the early 70s to the San Francisco Rock & Roll scene of the 60s, Brad has developed a unique soulful style. During the late 70s and early 80s Brad played with several working bands touring the country, including Cruz Control, The Reactors, and Vout n About.

Brad's journies in music have revealed memorable connections he has been fortunate to meet some of the greatest in the industry. From meeting Count Basie in 1984 to living with the Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardsom who Porduced the Bee Gees and many others at Criteria Studios in North Miami. The stories are endless and has gifted Brad with the experience and knowledge to share.

In 2010 Brad Produced a Summer Music Series with intentions of helping Music Departments in the Schools. Thanks to Gary and Diana at The Peg House for the venue, he brought friends and bands to the remote location in Leggett, CA. Attendence was low but it sure was a summer of fine music echoing through the Redwoods. Brad is grateful to all his musician friends who made the trip and played.
